Gone Fishing - Father's Day

Welcome One Crazy Stamper Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back to share a second Father's Day card this week that I made for my dad using Bear (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Bait Shop (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Bob Hooked a Big One (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). My dad is an avid Fisherman and from the time he retired years ago, there are very few weeks that go by without him fishing, including winter. LOL!

On the front of my card, I used Bob Hooked a Big One (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I then fussy cut around the image and mounted it onto some green cardstock and used my Cricut Explore to cut out the lettering.

For the inside of the card, I wanted to try something different and decided to make a pop-up card which I did in several stages.

Stage 1: I cut some green cardstock 12 x 6" and then mounted 6 x 6" piece from 49 and Market Tattered Garden onto one half of it. Next, I scored the paper in half and used Stampendous - Pop-Up Stage Die set to cut 3 pop-up levels as seen in the image below. Then I cut just a little off of each side and mounted the die cut piece onto some brown cardstock, cut 12 x 6". I then used some double-sided pop-up tape to mount the Bait Shop - Bait Shop (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and the double-side tape to mount the bear - Bear (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) as well.

Here is a close-up of the Bear and Bait Shop.
Stage 2: To create the scene of the bear going through the grass, I used Lawn Fawn - Grassy Hillside Borders. I cut several pieces in various greens and then measured the back pieces to the pop-up that I created earlier. Cutting them at .5 in., 1 in. and 1.5 in. in the centre to fit around the pop-up. I also used some double-sided tape to pop up a few of the die cuts.

Stage 3: Lastly, I typed up an old saying for dad's on my computer, printed it out and die cut it using Your Next Stamp - Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214).

Here is how the inside looks all finished.

Bear!

Hello OCS Fans!
I'm popping in today to share with you a card I made using the new "Bear" stamp from the "Woodsy Christmas" release and an older image called "Package Packin' Penguin" from High Hopes Stamps!
I started by stamping my images, masking them off and then creating this background using some Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I splattered some white and black ink onto the background using a paintbrush. A couple spoonfuls of Stampendous Spoonful of Snow Embossing Powder gives these cuties some sparkly snow to walk on. I'll let you in on a little secret...... I messed up on my Bear. I had coloured it and then tried to add some texture with Copic Blending Solution and a rag. Lets just say it didn't work the best so I had to add little dots of Copic inks to try to fix it. I just couldn't throw it out after all my work on it. I hope it turned out okay for you guys.
Copics Used:
Bear: N1, N3, N5, N6, N7, N9/ R20
Penguin: C5, C6, C7/ YR04, YR07, YR09

Winter Stroll

I have a confession to make. Winter really isn't my favourite time of year. There are some beautiful days though - you know the ones... the sun is glistening off the snow, little to no wind, not too cold and a fresh blanket of snow.
I love to take my dog for a long walk on this type of day! He loves to bury his nose in the snow and run!!

This "perfect" winter day was the inspiration for this weeks card. I mean why wouldn't a bear want to take a stroll in the woods with mountains in the background on a beautiful winter day right?!

I started today's card by stamping one evergreen tree, masking it off and stamping some of the mountains. I stamped an extra tree and the bear and coloured everything with alcohol markers and fussy cut them. "Snow" was added to the sky with a white gel pen.
I cut my patterned paper to the sizes I needed and cut the scene was cut with a stitched rectangle die. I added a bit of extra white card stock to the bottom of it for more room.
Next, I took a hills die and cut out thin strips of card stock and added them to my scene to act as snow drifts. I added the second tree and the bear and stamped my sentiment. Some twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

At the very end, once everything was glued down I held my breath, grabbed a paint brush and added some glitter snow to the mountain tops and trees.

Hot Chocolate Season

We have had a couple blasts of winter where I live. You know....the cold biting wind and yes even lots of snow. So far it has melted away the next day but it is a reminder that winter is just around the corner.

This also means that hot chocolate and marshmallow season is already here. There is nothing like putting on a sweater and curling up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows. Bear-ly Warming Up from High Hopes has it right from what I can see.......

I decided to make Bear-ly Warming Up into a little gift package. I found a super easy to follow tutorial for this on the This Is Me Playing With Paper blog and made my single sided gift box. Then after colouring up this cutie I hand fussy cut him and added some sparkly Stickles to his mug. I made the sentiment using my computer printed it off and voila! Some ribbon and a few sparkly gumdrops finish off my gift.
If you're looking for me....I will be curled up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate <wink>
