Spring is here!

Welcome One Crazy Stamper Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back to share these adorable hedgehogs who are so excited to smell the beautiful spring blossoms growing on the trees. I used Hedgies Spring Loaded (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) to create the scene. I added a little bit more to the tree off to the side.

I thought it would be fun to try colouring this stamp using various watercolour mediums and brushes.

I started off by stamping the image onto Arches Watercolour Paper, 140 lb. Cold Press.

Then I used a mixture of Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Derwent Watercolour pencils and a paint palette.

I created the clouds by using a cotton ball and soaked into a little bit of water and then tapping it onto the paper to lift some of the watercolour. Finally, I used Pigma Micron 02 Archival Ink Pen to outline the flowers and the Hedge Hogs. For the noses, I used a Sakura Glaze - Black pen.

Supplies Used:

Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers: Chocolate, Sepia, TerraCotta

Derwent Watercolour Pencils: Brown Ochre 57, Raw Sienna 58, Copper Beach 61, Vandyke Brown 55

Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Ground Espresso, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Brushed Corduroy, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs, Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry, Krafty Kolours - Totally Taupe Mini Ink Cube

Ai Watercolor Essentials Palette

Background Paper: Recollections - Petite Floral - Double Sided 12 x 12 in (30.4 x 30.4 cm)

MISTI - Most Incredible Stamping Tool

Fairy Garden

If April showers bring May flowers and fairies make a garden grow, then we should be all set in my neighbourhood.
We had a very wet April and May is starting out the same so that is sure to bring flowers. My neighbour and I also joke about having a garden fairy as my roses always do well when I really don't do anything with them and she has plants growing that haven't come up for years. We call our garden fairy Hilda who used to live in my neighbours home and had a way with plants <wink>

I decided "Lilly The Spring Fairy" is a fun way to pay tribute to our garden fairy "Hilda".

I coloured Lilly with alcohol markers, Prisma pencils for some shading, Nuvo Glitter drops for her wings and hand fussy cut her. I set her aside and created my background by blending inks from Stampin' Up and Ranger Distress Ink. I spritzed some water to help create a magical feel and added some Frantage around the edge. Next I cut out my heart flower border die and added some Frantage to some of the flowers to tie my card together. Some matching ribbon and hearts finish off my card.

Springtime JOy

Spring is here and my dog has Moe has his "spring beans" as I call them. It is like the whole winter he has saved his energy so when spring arrives he becomes my wild child. Everything is done with a spring in his step and his chest pushed out like he owns the world.

When I had my horse it was the same thing. First day out in the field was a challenge for him to decide ......do I stop and eat grass or run around my field bucking and kicking............

The playful goats stamp reminds me of the pent up energy that my dog has - you know the kind......when all you want to do is run, play and kick up your heels!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and Prisma pencils I hand fussy cut it. I wanted to put the goat on the left that is bucking on an action wobble so I cut him out completely. The mini action wobble is literally the width of his body so I had to be very precise with my placement but it sure adds a fun element!
I wanted to keep my layout more to the CAS side of card making to keep the focus on this fun stamp, so I grabbed some blue check paper and some white card stock andcut a circle out of if. I  the card stock in to my Misti and placed the sentiment and stamped it.
All of the paper is edged with antique linen distress ink, stitched clouds popped up with foam dots and some enamel dots finish off my fairly CAS design.

Dear Spring......

I admit it, I'm winter weary and I have been thinking about Spring a lot!
This week I decided to have some fun with my thoughts of Spring and make a card for Spring. Weird right?! but maybe if Spring knows how much it is loved it will think about coming a little earlier then usual....<wink>

"Sitting Bee" and some fun spring coloured paper were perfect for my "thinking of you" card for Spring.

I coloured this cutie with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge around the antennas. They were tough to cut and things went a little awry with the paper/scissor/knife combo I was using......sigh.........
Next I cut a piece of white card stock to size and cut a honey comb pattern die. I taped it on the cardstock using painters tape and used it as a stencil for my background. After I was done inking my background I added the sentiment using my Misit for perfect placement.

All of the paper is lightly edged with antique linen Distress ink.

Instead of throwing out my now blue honey comb pattern I decided it would be a perfect embellishment for this card along with some enamel dots and a pop of ribbon. I hope Spring likes her card and decides to come early!
