Work of Art!

Hello!
It's the last day of the "Christmas in July" over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs. I'm finishing off the month with this adorable snowman stamp called "Making Friends" from High Hopes Stamps. Snowmen and Penguins are my favourite winter "friends" so of course I think his Snowman is just so super cute.
The paper is from an older Echo Park collection called "I Love Winter". I just love the blues and reds in this collection! I added some Diamond Stickles for a bit of sparkle and a few enamel dots as well. The sentiment from HH called "Dot Warm Winter Wishes" is perfect for the front of my card.
On the inside I used the HH sentiment called "Work of Art". I absolutely love this saying! It's so true as you really do put all your love into building a snowman!

Ho Ho Ho

I have one last Christmas in July post to share with you.

Today's card features "Santa Bob" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. No Christmas card making endeavour is complete in my world without making at least one Santa card!
Santa Bob fits that bill perfectly doesn't he? Going down the chimney with his bag of toys and cool shades - we will see if he fits!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers and pencil I added some liquid applique to his coat and had trim. I wasn't going to fussy cut him but as you can see not all things go as planned!
I created my background with distress ink, a white gel pen and some glitter accents. At first I wasn't happy with my falling "snow" so I was going to scrap it but then I remembered no two snowflakes are alike so they don't have to be perfect.
Next I took my label die, cut out the centre and added some die cut houses. I kept the frame and added some snow drifts to the bottom and added it to my cardstock base with foam pop dots. I finished it off by simply stamping and adding my sentiment which is glittered up to match.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Santa Bob - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Ho Ho Ho - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

A Merry Little Snowlady

Christmas in July is a great way to get a start on all of those Christmas cards that we always say we will make early, and then come late November we suddenly realize we don't have enough cards once again.  This week for One Crazy Stamper I have colored up the adorable Snowlady Surprise from High Hopes Rubber stamps.

The image was stamped on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Memento ink and then colored with Copic sketch markers.  To add further dimension to the image I added Prismacolor pencils to the shadows and highlights, and blended it out with Gamsol.  Echo Park's Hello Winter paper is the card base, and the sentiment is from my stash - an old Waltzing Mouse stamp.

Hello High Hopes fans :)

I created this card using the following stamp.
The trees were stamped in a black ink and coloured with copics.  I used a light BV copic marker to
add shadows to the trees.  The background was also coloured with copics and added snow using a white sharpie marker.
The deer is a die cut from black card stock.

Home For Christmas

One of my parents' favourite things about Christmas is to have their "kids" come home. My Mom is famous for having at least one of each of our favourite foods or snacks available at some point throughout the day. Now, add to that the grand children and let me tell you the variety of food and treats is crazy! but we all love being together.
My card this week is based on this very thing - going/coming home for Christmas.

The "pieces" for this card took some time to create. The stamps were coloured and fussy cut and then set aside. I paper pieced the hat and scarf on the "Momma" bird just for fun and added glitter drops to her hat.
Next, I cut out an oval and die cut quite a few branch pieces. I cut the branch pieces apart and laid them out on the oval die to from my nest. I trimmed the oval down to about a quarter of the size to form my base. Next I cut my tree branches and added a light touch of snow to them as well as a few of the branches on the nest.
The sentiment was masked off with post it notes and stamped in stages. It took about 4 tries and a whole lot of patience to get it stamped the way I wanted it. Love my Misti is all I can say!
Some ribbon and gumdrops finish off my card.

Chef Pierre's Birthday Wishes

I am sneaking on to the OCS blog today to share a fun Birthday card I made for my neighbour.
She does quite a bit of baking - often whatever she bakes she makes more then enough so she can bring us some - and she loves pigs. She is an amazing neighbour and is always there to lend a helping hand however she can. I saw the Chef Pierre stamp and just knew I had to colour it up for her Birthday card.

After stamping and colouring my image with alcohol markers and pencils, I had fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge. I found the perfect paper to use from Bo Bunny and My Favourite Things and cut my layers. The sentiment is stamped directly on to the patterned paper. I added some fun white dots to the oven mitts with a white gel pen just for fun! The stamp itself is popped up using foam pop dots and a ribbon bow and some gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Chef Pierre - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Happy Birthday Script - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Only You - Bo Bunny, Watercolour Wash - MFT
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, white gel pen, classic circle die - Spellbinders, gumdrops - YNS, ribbon from my stash

Spectrum Noir Markers: FS1 FS3 IG1 IG2 IG6 LG2 YG1 YG2 PV1 MG1
Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils: 90, vivid pink, peach, smoke, pewter

My neighbour absolutely loved her card!
