Christmas Gofer

Happy Tuesday OCS Fans!
I'm popping in today to share with you my Christmas in July card for High Hopes Rubber Stamps! The Design Team is sharing Christmas themed cards all month to inspire you! Today I am using the adorable "Christmas Gofer". I just love those chompers of his!!
I coloured up this cutie using my Copic Sketch Markers and cut him out with a circle die. I decided to use papers from the Mod Scraps "Let It Snow" 6x6 collection. The whole collection is in the blues and it makes for a fun non traditional card. I added some liquid appliqué to his pom pom and made some snow drops falling around him. Once the appliqué dries you heat it with your heat gun and the drops puff up. I also added some Diamond Stickles to his scarf. The paper edges are all inked with Distress Oxide Ink in Faded Jeans. Some die cut snowflakes and ribbon finish off my card.
On my decorated inside I am using the High Hopes "Peace, Love, Joy" sentiment, and some layered papers cut with a stitched scallop border die.

Christmas Carollers!

Hi OCS Followers!
I'm popping in again to share another "Christmas in July" themed card using this adorable stamp from High Hopes called "Carolers". We Used to spend Christmas Eve with my cousins when we were young and after dinner and a visit from Santa, we would go around the neighbourhood carolling. These are very fond memories for me!
I love the very non-traditional colours in this 6x6 collection from Scrapberry called Elegantly Festive!  I added the HH sentiment called "Peace, Love, Joy". A couple strips of ribbon, some enamel dots and a nice flower finish everything off!
I used the HH sentiment called "Sparkle & Cheer" on the decorated inside of my card.

Peace, Love, Joy

Welcome back OCS fans.

For today's card, I have gone a bit outside of my comfort zone. I did a variation of a Panel Pull-Out Card (by Dawn Olchefske) that I saw on Splitcoaststampers.  Instead of doing five panels, I did three so that the image would fit nicely in the middle of a panel.  I also attached the panel to a card base instead of a single sheet of cardstock.

The center panel is white cardstock that was cut to be 5" x 11 1/4" and scored at approximately 3 3/4" from either end.  I also finished the inside of the card, which I usually don't do.

Peace, Love Joy

Happy Wednesday OCS Fans!

I had some fun with my card this week - I tried something new!
I used my Toner pen to add some foil in specific places to my card. More on that later as there are a few hits and misses with this one!

First, let me introduce you to "Presents Galore" from the new release at High Hope Stamps. I also used the new "Peace, Love, Joy" sentiment. I used this month's challenge sketch for my card.

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers I cut it out using a scalloped oval die. I left the image in the die and used a black marker to put a thin line around the edge. A second scallop die was cut out of matching cardstock to put behind it.
Now, here's where the adding of foil to the bow came in to play. It isn't perfect but I decided to use it anyway. The toner pen has a rather fat end on it and it is going to be best used for larger areas - definitely not in small, detailed areas. I tried adding toner with the edge of the tip and as you can see in the close up, there isn't as much toner left on the area so the foil doesn't adhere. I've learned you need full, thick coverage - so more practice in the future will make perfect.
