Happy Valentines! -- High Hopes Stamps

Hi there, I've been busy creating some Valentines treats :) This stamp is totally adorable and really reminds  me of the old school Valentine Cards I received as a kid.
I have to say this stamp is on my top 10 favorites of all time!
It all started with some yummy treats to help celebrate Valentines Day!
Packaged up with twine ...
The image is stamped with Tim Holtz Ink and a little red heat gem added to each one for a bit of bling!! Hand cut the cards, giving them  kinda a bubble look around the image. (I had little red bows on all of the cards which I decided were just too small, so off they went)
The cards were scored at the base and hot glued together.  I also added extra layers of card stock to the base to help them sit upright and not fall over.
The treats were added inside the card :)
The image was coloured with Copics. No shading here, just a quick bit of colour and the background airbrushed.
Larger bows were added to the tops!
These treats are going to work with me tomorrow along with a plate of peanut butter cookies!  I think this would be a super fun project to make with the little ones.

Thanks for peeking! Happy Valentines Day! :)

Go Ahead....

                                  Happy Thursday OCS fans!

My younger brother was a volunteer firefighter for years and although he doesn't do it at the moment, I still think of him every time I see anything with a firefighter on it.

My post for this week features an older High Hopes stamp called Firefighter Dragon. I have a mini Minc and I know you can use die cuts and run them through to add foil but I wanted to see if you could do the same with something run through an embossing folder....I will share my thoughts/experiences  on that later in the post.

For now, let me introduce you to Firefighter Dragon!

                                                         Donna

Firefighter Dragon is coloured with alcohol markers and I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out around him. I used some holographic foil on a diamond plate embossing folder, some paper from Authentic and finished off my card with some black gumdrops. The sentiments on the front and inside are from High Hopes as well. The card pattern is from an old issue of Card Maker.

I mentioned at the beginning of my post I would share some thoughts on using an embossed image in the mini Minc to add foil.

I used Heidi Swapp toner paper to put in the embossing folder and it did crack in a few spots as it is quite thin but the foil covered them completely. The foil didn't adhere 100% around the raised "diamonds" - it leaves a slight black outline but for this card, I wanted a more masculine, distressed feel so I was okay with that. The foil on the rest of the paper stuck beautifully.

Running the toner paper through an embossing folder does make it very weak so I broke a few photo corners before getting them on the card.
So I have come to the conclusion for a rugged, distressed feel to a foiled piece for a card absolutely I would do it again but for something more elegant not necessarily, but I had to try it. I think I will try it again but this time I will try putting the folder through on a lighter pressure so the raised portions aren't as high and see what happens...........stay tuned.........

Gabriel Plays Hockey!

Hi All!
My Hubby has been so frustrated with his favourite team the Toronto Maple Leafs lately! They can't seem to catch a break! So to cheer him up I used the High Hopes Stamp called "Gabriel's A Hockey Player" and made this cute card. I left it on his desk with a personal message inside for a little pick me up!
I tried to colour up the image using the TML Team colours. Apparently this is the "away" uniform and the helmut should have been white with a blue strip LOL. (die hard fan or what??). I added the Awesome and Wonderful little tag from the HH Sentiment #3 set.
Copics Used:

Hair: E43, E47

'Owl' always love you.....

Hi Crafty Peeps;

No doubt you  have all seen the pre-orders that Lora has up on the OCS website.  Sugar Hollow from Heartfelt Creations has arrived, and there is no doubt that this set is really cute and fun to play with.  For my post today, I have used some stamps and a die from this collection.  For the first card, I used the matching die to cut the owls out, and fuzzy cut the owls in the nest.  Both of these were mounted with pop dot adhesives.

Supplies  used:

Hello friends, and welcome back.  For my card today I am using a stamp from Stampendous Stamps called - House Mouse Making Prints.  I had so much fun with this little fellow, I stamped twice and fussy cutting around the image and popping him up with some foam tape.  Colored my stamp using Copic Markers-E43, 41, 47,93, W4, 6.  I used a few dies and added some Your Next Stamp Gumdrops.  I hope you get over to OCS and check out the other design teams creations and stop by Lora's store and replenish your supplies.  Till next time happy crafting.

Sending you sunshine! High Hopes Stamps!

 Happy Friday to you!
I'm back with a little bit of sunshine using Bella Bear from High Hopes  Stamps found here!
I'm thinking we could all use a little extra sunshine this February!! :)
Lots of warm yummy yellow, hearts background papers  and Bella Bear enjoying a beautiful day! Added sewing stitches and a texture white doily!
I decided to create some background clouds and grassy details using Copic Markers.
The inside of the card has been all dolled up with some gingham paper, touch of yellow card stock with added zigzag stitching. The sentiment is also a High Hopes from Sentiment Set#1
(I tried to stitch up the heart die cut but it was a little more difficult than I thought, the results are not perfect). A handmade look, I guess!

Snowbird Birthday

Welcome back OCS fans! It's the first Thursday in February and yes, it's still winter...sigh........

Today I am sharing a card I made for my mother in laws 80th birthday. I think L'il Snowbird from High Hopes Stamps is the perfect image when you need something with a winter theme for life events after Christmas.

                                                         Donna

I chose to use some "brighter" colours to help beat some of the winter blues.  Some glitter gumdrops add some sparkle along with some bright pink paper from Doodlebug.  "Snow" embossing powder adds some texture and colour as well.

I'm Trying But......

Hi OCS Fans!
Todays post for One Crazy Stamper makes me giggle as I can just picture myself in this position as I try to exercise! I have absolutely zero co-ordination so this definitely would be me LOL! This stamp set is from Art Impressions. Lora carries lots of these humorous Ai stamps. This set is called "Skinny Yet".
I decided to paper piece the outfit and exercise ball. I matched my background papers using Design paper from the Authentique "Infused" 6x6 collection. I made some matching flowers with some dies and added a rhinestone gem in the middles. The funny sentiment comes with the Skinny Yet set.
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E11, R20
hair: E11, E13, E08
Lips, headband & earring: RV09
Shoes: C1, C3, C5
Outline BG000
