Quirky Animals

 Thanks friends for stopping here, wow, can't believe June is almost over.  When you are having so much fun, time really does go by fast.  The challenge here at One Crazy Stamper has been so fun this month.  This is the last card I have made using the wonderful Stamp set from Your Next Stamp called Quirky Animals.  I used everyone in the set.  I will have the full set picture below.  I used YNS Gumdrops, and Foam tape, along with coloring my images using Copic markers.  I also used Mask-it for carefully stamping my images on top of each other or around each other.  I hope you get a chance to get into your craft room.  Till next week, happy crafting.

Group Hug!

Happy Saturday!
Wow it's Saturday again and that means it's my turn to post a card! Today I decided to use the Art Impressions Girlfriends 2015 Bench set. I love this image and every time I see it it screams Christmas to me.
I decided to use designer papers from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day collection that I had in my stash from last year. I love the colour combination of the minty green and red in this 6x6 paper pad. I fussy cut the image out and added it to my card with foam squares for some dimension. This time I used Crystal Stickles to add my bling! I love all things that glitter, maybe I was a glitter fairy in a former life LOL!
 On the inside I layered a sentiment that I cut out from the paper pad.
 Copics used:
Skin: E00, E11
Hair: E43, E44, E47, E49
Reds: R24, R27, R29
Mint: BG23, BG34
Beige: E30, E31, E33
Greens: G03, G05, G07
Greys: C1, C3, C5

You still have time to enter into our Anything Goes Challenge
Here's to a relaxing weekend to you all and I hope you have time to get crafty!

June Tutorial - Shrink Plastic!

Hello and Happy Friday!!!  Today I have a special Tutorial to share with you on how to use "Shrink Plastic" on your cards and scrapbook pages. Have you ever looked at someone's project and saw them use shrink plastic and wonder how they do that, well you can find out here today!!! You can choose to cut the Shrink Plastic using scissors, with your die cut machine and your dies or you can stamp and image using StazOn ink and cut out and colour using your Copic Sketch Markers.

Today you will see three completed examples, one I cut the plastic with a Spellbinder shape,  one I just stamped and cut out with scissors and the other one I stamped, cut and coloured with my Copic Sketch markers! Check it out...

To Start off you will need to have Inkssentials Shrink Plastic by Ranger....
Inkssentials Shrink Plastic Sheets P29809

And below you will see the other supplies I used for this project....
 Supplies Used:
* Inkssentials Shrink Plastic by Ranger
* StazOn Timber Brown Ink
* Memento Ink: Tuxedo Black
* Distress Ink: Broken China
* Copic Xpress It Cardstock
* Copic Sketch Markers
* Image:  High Hopes Stamps, Bob Hooked a Big One
* Sentiments:  High Hopes Stamps, Bold Happy Birthday & Keep Clam & Fish On
* Mini Blending Tool
* 1/4" Hole Punch
* Spellbinders Die - Pearl Effects
* Sizzix Waves Embossing Folder
* Paper - Bella Blvd Camp Out 12x12, Jump In The Lake
* Twine
* Button
* Red Cardstock
* White Cardstock
* Craft Heat Gun
* Scissors
* "Pokey" Tool
* Glossy Accents

Now that you have your tools you can get started!  The first example I am going to show you is how to use your Copic Sketch Markers to colour on Shrink Plastic. When choosing an image you plan to stamp and colour you first need to sand one side of the plastic with sand paper in a cross hatch pattern as shown in the photo below, can you see the scratch marks?...
 Once you have sanded one side of the plastic, turn over your piece and stamp your image on the smooth side using StazOn ink - I have chosen to stamp just the fish from the image I am using on the card you will see later. Cut out your image using scissors or a die shape.  If you wish to hang your plastic piece from twine, ribbon, etc. you will need to punch a 1/4 hole before you colour and shrink.  Once the ink has dried, turn over your piece and colour on the sanded side using your Copic Sketch Markers, see photo below of mine coloured before I shrink it, I chose to use the dotted technique to make scale line texture on the fish....

In the next example I stamped the High Hopes Stamps Sentiment "Keep Calm & Fish On" with StazOn ink and have cut out with scissors.  ....
 As you can see the image does not look perfect but just wait all will work out perfect!!!

In the last example I have cut out the plastic using my Spellbinder Pearl Effects Die then stamped on the High Hopes Stamps Bold Happy Birthday sentiment using StazOn ink....

Now that you have prepared all your pieces we are ready to "shrink" each piece to 45% of it's size!  All you need now is your "pokey" tool to hold your piece and your Craft heat gun.  Fan your heat gun over your plastic piece and once it starts to heat up it will start to shrink.  You will find that the plastic will start to curl into a ball - don't be afraid this is suppose to happen, see photo below....
 To straighten the "curl" and complete the shrinking process just turn over your piece and heat.  Your piece will take on the right look now.  Turn your piece back over to have the front forward and heat it up a tiny bit more then take your acrylic stamp block and press it on top of your plastic piece to make sure it is flat and straight.  Super easy right?? Now if you have other prepped, complete the same process and shrink =)

Below you can see some pictures of the original size vs. the 45% shrunk pieces to see how cool this really is!....

Here are all 3 pieces completed....
I decided after I took this photo that my Happy Birthday piece did not show up on the card the way I wanted it to so I decided after to take my R29 Copic Sketch Marker and just colour the back of the piece to have the red show through and make it pop off the card

Here is my completed card with my new "Plastic Embellishments" added....

Here is a close up of Bob to see the Copic colours used....
 Copic Colours used:
* Skin: E11, E00, E000

Oh Nuts, One Crazy Stamper - Natalie

Oh nuts, I forgot!
 Just peeking in with a little tag using Your Next Stamp's Baking Buddies CYNS Stamp and YNSD299Die Set.
I love this sweet Elephant enjoying his peanuts and thought it would be fun to create a tag.  I just might have to attach it to a plate of peanut butter cookies the next time I forget an important date!
 I was able to coordinate the pattern paper, that's one of the nice things about using the 6x6 pads as everything works so well together.
The banners were hand cut, some sewing stitches and pleated ribbon for some fun touches along with Vintage Photo distress ink for added detail.
Thanks for looking, hope you get crafty today!

Say Cheese

Say Cheese! Hahaha, isn't my little friend that I colored up using Copic Markers so cute.  That is about as far as I like mice, but sure was cute.  My card today is for the Challenge over here at One Crazy Stamper and Lora has wonderful prizes, so remember to play along.  I cut out some holes in the yellow paper and added some twine, along with the mouse, this is pretty CAS especially for me.  Happy Crafting!

Senior-Ita Wanda!

Happy Saturday All!

Don't you just love Stamping Bella's Senior-Ita Wanda?! It doesn't get any cuter than Wanda sending you a big sloppy kiss! MWAHHHHH!

I always colour 2 images when I am making a card. It helps to build up your stash and in case you make a huge mistake you have a back up as well.  I decided to use the design paper from Echo Park's We Are Family. Echo Park is one of my favourite companies for paper! I always pick my paper first and then colour to coordinate with the paper. It just works the best for me! I used dies from Spellbinders (Lacey Circles) and Pretty Pink Posh (Stitched Borders 3). A bit of ribbon, some enamel dots and cabochon flowers were my embellishments of choice for these cards. I added Crystal Stickles to the flower enters and on Wanda's lips.
 This stamp comes with 2 sentiments. I used both on these cards. Of course I always use some of the scraps from when I trimmed my paper to add on the inside of my cards.
Copics used:
Skin: E00, E11, R20
Lips: R22, R24
Hair: W3, W5, W7
Flowers: R20, R22, R24, YR31

Well I've got your attention....don't forget to enter into the One Crazy Stamper Challenge "Anything Goes"! You have all month to enter for a chance to win!
