Christmas in February

Happy Wednesday and last day of February!  Hard to believe that tomorrow is the start of a new month - where, oh where did time go?!!!  As it is Wednesday it is time for me to showcase another adorable image from High Hopes Stamps for One Crazy Stamper.  This week I've done another Christmas themed card in the hope that I will have a whole stack of them this year!

This adorable image is Winter Moose available here.  I stamped the image on kraft paper with Versafine ink in Onyx Black and then colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  The designer paper is from Simple Stories Classic Christmas line, while the snowflake, scalloped edge and sentiment are from My Favorite Things.  I uses a Wink of Stella clear pen to add shimmer to the snowflake and a white Sakura glaze pen to add the highlights on the sentiment.

Card Recipe - Prismacolor pencils - 1099 Espresso, 946 Dark Brown, 945 Sienna Brown, 1083 Putty Beige, 1094 Sandbar brown, 1051 50% Warm Grey, 914 Cream, 935 Black, 108 Pink rose, 1070 30% French Grey, 1069 20% French Grey, 938 White, 996 Black Grape, 1030 Raspberry, 923 Scarlet Lake

You're Purrr-ty Tweet.....

Welcome OCS Fans;

February is almost over, and it seems very spring like with all the rain we have had lately.  It seems a lot of the snow has been washed away.

Today's card can also be used for Valentine's -- next year maybe or just because......

I have used the adorable Purrr-ty Tweet Kitty from High Hopes Stamps to create a CAS card.  I coloured the image with Copic Markers.  Used the Spellbinders Square Hearts to mount it on and added some Nuvo Glitter Drops in the corners.

Hummingbird Hello

I have had this stamp in my stash for a little while now. I think it is a gorgeous stamp that can be used for so many different occasions but for some reason, I have been scared to try colouring it.
However, for this weeks post, I wanted something that had a Spring feel to it, something I could use some bright spring colours with, so I sat down, took a deep breath..............and then this happened <smile>

Sketch Inspiration

After colouring this amazing stamp with alcohol markers, I fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge and set it aside. I cut out a circle and added some puffy clouds using a cloud die, dauber and light blue ink. The hummingbird and flower were added using some foam pop dots. Next I cut my patterned papers and a cardstock backing piece to match. The scripty word die was taped down on the patterned paper (with painters tape so it didn't rip the paper) and run through my big kick. The die was run again using a piece of matching cardstock. I glued the cardstock word down as an inset and added some ribbon and gumdrops to finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Hummingbird - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Scripty Words die - YNS
Patterned Paper: Watercolour Wash Brights - MFT, Sugar and Spice - Doodlebug
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Stampin' Up ribbon, Forever in Time Pop Dots, classic circle die - Spellbinders, white sugar and sparkle gumdrops - YNS

Spectrum Noir Markers: AG1 AG3 AG4 AG5 BT3 BT4 BT6 BT7 DR5 DR1 DR7 BG7 MG3 MG4 DR6 CT1 CT2 GB5 CT4

Fluffle Hugs!!!

Did you know that a group of bunnies is called a Fluffle?  Seemed fitting for this card to be entitled Fluffle Hugs!  I decided to make a fluffle of bunnies using the High Hopes Rubber stamp image "Flop Eared Rabbit (H013), by masking and stamping the image five times.  Gotta love fluffles!!

After the image was grouped together I colored them with Copic markers, and then added depth and highlights with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I then fussy cut the fluffle, and placed it on to a card front with a clear acetate panel, showcasing the patterned paper on the inside of the card.  The stamped sentiment is from one of my Stamping Bella images, and HUGS was cut with a My Favorite Things die.

Card Supplies - Copics - 100, T5, T8, T10, E11, E13, E15, E35, E37, E39, E41, E42, E43, E44, E50, E51, E53, R11

Heidi & Mattie!

Hi OCS Fans!
I'm a big dog fan and have had a dog in my life for as long as I can remember! I think it's wonderful to have pets especially when you have children as the two become best friends! I am using the High Hopes stamp called "Heidi & Mattie". Don't these two look like they are the best of friends?!!
I coloured Mattie up adding some grey spots to her with my Copic Markers. My paper this time is from the Echo Park Just Be You 6x6 collection. I decided to paper piece Heidi's overalls for a fun element! The sentiment "Best Friends Forever" is also from High Hopes and goes perfectly with this image!
Here's an inside view of my card. The sentiment is part of the "Best Friends Forever" stamp. I masked off the stamp and used part of it on the front and the other part on the inside of my card. It's fun to do different things with your sentiments!
Copics Used:
Skin: E00, E11, E21, R20
Hair: YR21, YR24, Y21, Y23
Shirt & shoes: R02, R05, R08

Light Those Candles

This cute little fireman and his dog are racing in to save the day and help you put out your birthday candles!

My younger brother was a volunteer fire fighter for years and he loved doing it. I don't think I ever saw him with a Dalmation tagging along but I did hear some fun stories over the years.

I also don't think he would have volunteered to help me put out my birthday candles with his fire truck and hose.........well actually - he would have - he does like to bug and tease me...sigh......

I coloured this cutie with my alcohol markers and cut it out using a stitched square die and added it to some fun party paper from Photo Play. The sentiment was masked off (it is only part of a sentiment), stamped and cut out using a circle die. Some fun matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: L'il Fireman - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Go Ahead - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Party Boy - Photo Play

Heartfelt Sympathy

The most difficult card to make and yet it's the one theme I get asked to create the most - a sympathy card.  Today's card for One Crazy Stamper didn't start out to be a sympathy card, but sometimes the biggest mistakes turn out beautifully.

This image is Hummingbird from High Hopes Stamps and is available to purchase here.  I stamped the image on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored the image with Copic markers.  The hummingbird itself was covered with Wink of Stella clear glitter.  After fussy cutting the image, I adhered it to the card front that I created with one single sheet of patterned paper.  The raised centre was created by carefully cutting the centre of the paper out, matting it and then raising it with pop up dots.  The sentiment is from my stash, and the pearls were created with a Viva Decor cream pearl pen.

Card recipe - Copies - B000, B01, B04, R14, R17, R27, BG72, BG75, BG96, BG90, BG93, YR23, YR27, Wink of Stella Clear, Viva Decor Pearl Pen

Spring Is Coming!

Hi OCS Fans!
I've been so tired of winter and the thought of Spring just makes me feel happy! I decided it was time to make a fun Spring themed card. I am using the "2 Chicks" and "Sweet Heart Frame" stamps from High Hopes Stamps.
I chose paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 collection. First I stamped my Frame and then added the Chicks inside.  I have to admit..... the sky is a "mistake coverup" lol! First I had masked off all the images and tried to do a Distress Ink Cloud sky but I messed it up. Since my whole image was coloured and I didn't want to waste it, I took the Distress Ink and a water brush and filled in the sky. I'm not entirely in love with it so I added a few die cut clouds and it seemed better.
Copics Used:

Welcome back OCS fans;

February is generally know as the month of love and romance and the history of Valentine's Day goes back as far as the middle ages.

So in keeping with this month's "Anything Goes" theme I have used an older High Hopes Stamps, that can be used for Valentine's Day or not.  I stamped this cute Tricera-Tops Dino with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured him with copic markers.

Hockey Penguin Valentine??

Yes folks, you read that right - my post today features a hockey playing penguin for a Valentine's Day card.
I have a number of friends who's spouses love hockey. They live and breath it, the TV is always on a game when there is one on and don't touch the remote!

So I got to thinking.......if I had a spouse who loved hockey - what kind of Valentine's Day card could I make that would get his attention.....and voila! A non-traditional hockey playing penguin.....why not!? and of course the perfect play on words sentiment to match <wink>

I found some Valentine feel papers in my vast array of paper and coloured my stamp to match. I added some twine, a wood heart coloured to match and some black gumdrops. It is a more simple layout but I think has a masculine touch to it and the heart and heart paper count for Valentine's Day right?

Card Recipe
Stamp: Penguin's Pastime - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Ice For You - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: True Love - Reverse Confetti
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, stitched square die - Your Next Stamp, twine, wood heart - the Stockade, black gumdrops - Your Next Stamp

Spectrum Noir Markers: IBG5 BG7 BG10 IG2 IG3 IG5 MB1 MB3 MB4 AP1 AP3 AP2 GY1 GY3 B02 YG1 YG2 YG3 VB1 VB2

Goat Your Back!

Happy Tuesday!
Thanks for stopping by today to see my card using the High Hopes Stamp called "Goat Your Back". I've had this stamp for a while but had never inked it up. I thought it was perfect to use for the "Anything Goes" Challenges over at High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs.
I love this combination of green and black. My design is simple with just some twine and enamel dots for embellishments. These adorable goats remind me of the goats we visit every summer at The Bruce Beckons. It's adorable to watch the babies jumping all around!!
Here's the inside view. I printed this sentiment off on my computer!
