Always believe in your dreams -- High Hopes Stamps

Hi there and happy Friday.  I'm back to share a little book cover
I created with vintage fabric, canvas and this sweet little
gal.
The image was stamped with Stazon ink  and coloured
with  Copic markers.  Added pearls, pretty pleated  ribbon and a butterfly. The fabric book cover was added to a composition note book I picked up at the dollar store.

Howdy

This week I am getting in touch with my country side. I grew up in town but I had a number of friends and an aunt and uncle who had farms that I spent my summer vacations going to.

I learned how to milk cows, pick stones in the fields and clean out pig pens and much more!We worked hard ..... and yes we had some fun too! Honestly I'm a farm girl at heart.

"Clarebelle & Riley" bring back some very fun memories for me!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut it out using a stitched square die. The sentiment is part of a larger sentiment but I thought it fit this stamps perfectly.
I really wanted to find a way to combine patterned paper that in my mind have kind of a country feel to them - gingham, burlap, denim and barn board. I was able to combine paper from two different companies and my stash to achieve my country feel.
Some matching blue gumdrops finish off my card.

Stamps: Clarabelle & Riley - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Howdy Pardner - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Tiny Checks - MFT, Snap Basics - Simple Stories,

Get Well Soon!

This month the One Crazy Stamper design team will be using a variety of High Hopes Rubber Stamps to go along with our Anything Goes Challenge theme.

I was going through my card stash and realized I don't have very many Get Well Soon cards. It is always when we are least expecting it that we need this type of card so I decided to use super cute "Valerie Nurse Angel" to create a card for just this reason.

This 4x4 size card will go perfectly with a get well gift and was inspired by a crafty friend of mine who's name starts with "C".

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I cut fussy it out using my trusty manicure scissors. Now, I have noticed that some nurses are wearing print scrub tops to work so I decided to paper piece Valerie's nurse coat to add some fun. I also added sparkle to her wings using a clear sparkle pen.

The sentiment was stamped in three separate words (it comes as on long sentiment) to a piece of patterned paper and added to a die cut clip board - a nurse would have a clip board to record things so I thought it fit perfectly with this image.
I cut some matching card stock and ran it through a heart embossing folder to add some texture.
And since she is repairing a bear who has come un-stitched I hand stitched some stitches on the card with embroidery floss to finish off my card.

Stamps: Valerie Nurse Angel- High Hopes Rubber Stamps or at OCS HERE
Sentiment: Tail Not Waggin/Get Well Soon - High Hopes Rubber Stamps or at OCS HERE
Patterned Paper: Cream and Sugar - Doodlebug
Tuxedo Black ink - MementoMisti, Swiss Hearts Embossing folder - Taylored Expressions, Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, silver gel pen, Little Notes Die set - YNS, Fishtail Banner dies - YNS

The Best of Things....

Welcome OCS fans;

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and had a chance to enjoy the Canada Day festivities.

For today's card, I have used several techniques and different mediums.  The stamp I used is called The Best of Things from High Hopes Stamps.  I coloured this with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers.  The main background paper is a piece of sheet from one of Heidi Swapp's paper pads that was foiled using the Minc Machine and Holographic Reactive Foil.  The strip of paper on the left hand paper was created using a Tim Holtz stencil called Trellis.   Lilac Lavendar and Spring Green Nuvo Mousse were used to add colour.  Doing this was trial and error.  The mousse which has a pearlescent effect has a creamy and smooth like butter texture.  I found it went on quite nicely if I used a piece of cut and dry foam instead of a spatula.

There is plenty of time to enter this month's "Anything Goes" challenge for a chance to win 2 unmounted High Hopes Stamps of your choice.
