Winter Holiday Selfie

Our winking snowman friend has gone on a winter holiday. Of course he went somewhere cold so he doesn't melt!
He stopped to take some selfies along the way and is sharing his favourite one with you........along with a few that didn't work out so great.

I used the Winking Snowman and the Mini Snowman set to create my card and with some masking magic (okay a post it note) I used two different sentiments to create one new one.

After colouring my stamps and hand fussy cutting them I ran a black maker around the edge to get any white I may have missed.
Next, I cut my cardstock, patterned paper to size. Since I had my Big Kick warmed up I cut my polaroid frame and filmstrip at the same time. I built my scene using a stitched border die and pine trees.
Then came the fun! I coloured two of the matching mini winking snowmen and cut them in half to make my "selfies gone wrong" in the filmstrip. Some icicles, twine and a few snowflakes finish off my card.

Winter Owl!

Hello OCS Fans!
We finally have some winter weather and snow here in Ontario Canada. I'm feeling like this little "Winter Owl" from High Hopes Stamps is perfect for the Winter vibe here!
I've had this paper from LDRS Called "Arctic Winter" that I've been dying to use and it was perfect for this adorable "Winter Owl" image. Winter Owl actually has some Christmas ornaments in the stamp. I masked them off before stamping my image for more of a winter theme rather than Christmas. I added Crystal Stickles to the pink areas on her hat and scarf and Liquid Appliqué to the snow on the branches. A bit pink bow finishes everything off.
I popped the inner octagon and image up with foam tape for a dimensional look.
More papers for a decorated inside and the High Hopes "Winter Wonderland" sentiment.
Copics Used:
W00, W0, W1, W2, W3

Monkey Love

Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away ... already! Where has January gone?!
My post today features the oh so cute "Heartstrings Monkey" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
How fun is this cutie with his heart love banner!?!

After colouring up this cutie with alcohol markers I cut him out with a circle die. I used a dark brown Prismacolor pencil to add some shading and my Fiskars circle cutter to cut a card stock circle to go behind him. I chose patterned paper from Reverse Confetti and laid out my card base.
This card is done for the Bazzill Basics Paper sketch challenge so the design is based on the challenge sketch.

I added a fun heartstring banner, gingham ribbon and gumdrops to finish off my card. There is also clear Spectrum sparkle pen added to the monkey's hearts and all of the paper is edged with antique linen distress ink.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Heartstrings Monkey - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Patterned Paper: True Love - Reverse Confetti

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Heartstring banner die - YNS, gingham ribbon - Stampin' Up, Antique Linen Distress ink, gumdrops - YNS, Clear Spectrum Sparkle pen

Sweet Heart Owls...

Welcome OCS Fans;

It is time to start building up a stash of general everyday and every occasion type of cards.  As my daughter's wedding anniversary is coming up, I thought I would start with an anniversary card.

For today's card, I used the adorable Sweet Heart Owls from High Hopes Stamps. After stamping the image, I coloured it with Spectrum Noir Pencils. The heart in the upper corner is a wooden shape, that I coloured with Nuvo Persian Red Embellishment Mousse.  I then added some rhinestones to finish it off.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Sweet Heart Owls, Happy Anniversary (High Hopes Stamps)
  • Ink:  Staz-on Jet Black
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest White, DP -- Romance (Whimsy Stamps) -- I don't think it is in stock any more
  • Spectrum Noir Pencils:

Are We There Yet?

We are not really having what is considered a "normal" winter where I live. We usually have a ton of snow by now but we really don't have much to speak of.
It makes it kind of challenging for the little ones who like tobagganing!

The stamp I have used on my card today reminds me of my younger days when the neighbours came over and we tobogganed all day. We had the best hill right beside our house so we didn't have to go far.
These three friends bring back some fun memories and we may or may not have had a couple times where one of us was the beaver on this fun stamp! <smile>

I coloured this fun stamp with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge. I set it aside and created my background using a birch tree background die and some birch tree patterned paper. The die is sized to fit an A2 size card so the trees on the main card base are actually cut apart from the finished die cut. I used a wavy edge die to create my snow hill and inked all of the paper and tree edges with antique linen distress ink. I added some fun glitter paper snow flakes (hard to see in the photo) cut out with a punch and added some matching sparkly ribbon to finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Toboggan Joy Ride - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Are We There Yet? - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Really Rainbow Christmas - Lawn Fawn,
Winter Wonderland - Simple Stories

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, My Creative Time Die (snow hill), Birch Tree Background die - Gina Marie Designs, Galena ribbon, snowflake punch - Marvy, glitter paper - Recollections, Antique Linen Distress ink,

Spectrum Noir Markers: EB1 MB3 MB4 PP1 PP3 IG3 IG5 BG5 BG7 BG10 EB3 EB6 EB5 TN3 TN4 TN7 MB1 CG1 DG2 DG4 IB2 IB3 BT7

Hogs & Kisses

Poor Pickles!!!He bought his sweetheart some balloons for Valentine's Day and they seem to have put a little too much helium in them!
For now all he can do is send Hogs and Kisses to his sweetheart and hope he back in time for the big day!

I coloured Pickles with alcohol markers, cut him out with a stitched rectangle die and set him aside. Next I grabbed some white card stock, a dauber, blue ink and a cloud die cut and created my sky background. This is an A2 size card so I cut some background pieces out of my cloud paper. The second cut in the background is for some added interest. The sentiment is stamped directly onto to the background and some matching enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Lg. Pickles Balloon Ride - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Hogs and Kisses - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, white gel pen, baby blue Memories ink, cloud Quickutz die, stormy blue Distress ink (sentiment), stitched rectangle dies - YNS, enamel dots - Carta Bella

Snowballs for Sale...

Welcome OCS fans;

Hopefully, there will be some snowfall this weekend for some good old fun with snowballs.  Where I live, there has been a lack of this main ingredient to be able to make snowballs never mind throwing them.

For today's card, I have used this adorable Penguin selling snowballs stamp called Frozen Fun from High Hopes Stamps.

After stamping the image, I coloured it with Copic Markers.  I used Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accent to add some snow at the bottom and Nuvo Pure Platinum Mousse and Pure Sheen Ice White Glitter to the snowflakes.

Warm Winter Wishes!

Hello OCS Fans!
Today I'm sharing this cute trio of cards to hopefully brighten your winter day! I used the High Hopes image called "Bluebirdy".
I coloured this cutie with my Copic Markers and then fussy cut her out using my Brother Cut N Scan.  I'm using papers from the Pebbles "Winter Wonderland" 6x6 collection.
I popped "Bluebirdy" up on top of the Lacey circle with some foam tape for added dimension.
Each bird has some Stickles added to her fur trim and pom pom for added fun! A few Doodlebug sequins finish everything off. The "Dot Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment is also from High Hopes.
Copics Used:

Wild Thing

I am getting out of Christmas card making mode and jumping in to Valentine's Day cards. I don't make many of this type of card to be honest but sometimes you have a stamp that comes into your life that needs to be a Valentine's Day card!

"Snuggle Lions" was just that stamp for me.....although now I think it would also be perfect for an Anniversary card............

This card went sideways from my original plan. After colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and went around the edge with a black marker to cover any white I may have missed. Here is where things went awry...the paper and design I had chosen were just not working together with the stamp! Even after walking away for a day it wouldn't come together!

So, I chose some paper from MFT and a different design and put my card together. I had to use my fussy cut stamp although I don't think it looks fussy cut on this white background. Next I took a small heart die and after roughly placing where I wanted the lions to be, I cut three hearts.

The sentiment is one large sentiment but with some masking and help from my Misti I was able to split it up and stamp directly on to my paper. Some glossy enamel dots finish off my card.

Stamp: Snuggle Lions - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Wild Thing - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Hearts and Stripes - My Favorite Things

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, gloss enamel dots - Gina Marie Designs

Slapshot Stanley!!!

Welcome Everyone;

Now that Christmas is over, we can get back to our normal routines. For me that is work, crafting and more crafting.  House work is right at the bottom of the list.  Now for my grandchildren it is school and hockey and nothing but hockey.  Yep all three of them and all different schedules.

For today's card, I used Slapshot Stanley from High Hopes Stamps (definitely need some female hockey stamps).  After stamping the image I coloured it with copic markers.  The snowflakes were two wooden shapes.  I added the Nuvo Pure Platinum Mousse first, then added some Nuvo Snow Glow glitter.

Supplies used:
  • Stamp:  Slapshot Stanley, happy Birthday (High Hopes Stamps)
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Cardstock, DP - Celebrate Winter (Echo Park)

Skiing Snowman

I personally am not a skiier, haven't really even given it a whole lot of "try" but when I did it honestly wasn't my favourite winter sport.
The only skis I really like are the two on the front of a snowmobile. <wink>

I do have friends that enjoy skiing though so I had them in mind when I was putting together my card for this week with "Skiing Snowman". I put him on an action wobble because this is probably what I would look like if I tried skiing again!

After colouring my stamp with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge and set him aside. I built my background using tree and hill dies and paper from an old Bo Bunny collection.
I used only a portion of a sentiment so after masking off what I didn't want, stamped it and cut it to fit. Next I added my snowman to an action wobble and added it to the card. Some twine, a silver snowflake charm and glitter Nuvo drops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Skiing Snowman @ High Hopes Rubber Stamps or HERE at OCS
Sentiment: Roundin Up - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Whiteout Collection - Bo Bunny

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, white gel pen, pine tree die - Memory Box, twine, charm, action wobble, Midnight Blue Nuvo Glitter Drops

Wishing for warm weather!

Hi everyone & happy Wednesday!!

"The weather where I live is cold and grey so today I am sharing a fun 12 x 12 single page "Sandcastle" layout. I love the memories that this layout brings back of our family trip to Florida. I have the perfect picture of my husband, daughter & I making a sandcastle together in 2011.  Yes that said 2011, not a type O <smile>.  When I locate that picture it will go right here on this page.

Our daughter had to do a project while we were away on vacation as part of her homework for the 2 weeks.  I totally forgot to bring the paper for the scrapbook she would be doing so I had to go buy some.   We didn't use it all so I pulled some out to use on this layout.  This paper makes this layout special because the patterned paper came from Florida and it holds so many fun, beautiful memories.

I have used die cuts that are available in the store along with many other designs. The links for the dies I used are below but be sure to visit the OCS website for many more themes and designs coming soon.

To my son....it's in the mail LOL

I also broke from my go to Copics and went for Prismacolor Pencils...almost forgot how to use them.
