Taking the Scenic Route

Welcome OCS Fans;

On my to do list whenever I retire, is a train ride through the Rockies.  Besides being a soothing ride, I know it is very scenic and that the Rocky Mountaineer has these trips on a regular basis.

With this in mind, today's card is using the Little Engine from High Hopes Stamps, latest release called "Modes of Transportation".

After stamping my image, I coloured it with Copic Markers and then fuzzy cut it and mounted it using a mini action wobble.  For the design paper, I used the section that showed Canada.  The strip was cut using a Double Stitched Hill die.

All You Need

You may think I have lost my mind with this weeks card .......I mean cars and flowers together?! Not normal right? but there is a bit of a story behind the inspiration for this one <wink>.
My bestie has just gone through her second cancer surgery and to say the least she is my hero! When she is down we often get a little crazy when we are chatting just to lighten the mood.
We call each other Thelma and Louise and we often joke about grabbing a convertible and just driving........where we end up no one knows - we just hope we don't end up needing bail money <giggle>. I asked her one time what colour of convertible she wants me to get...the answer purple!  And thus the inspiration for this weeks card was born. I love that "El Classico" is a convertible and that the "Tank of Gas" sentiment was a perfect fit!

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge to cover any white I had missed.
I used a classic circle die to cut my shape and added some clouds with ink and a cloud die and dauber. The patterned paper is from my stash and Lawn Fawn. Some matching roses and rhinestones from Kaisercraft were the perfect finishing touches.

Card Recipe
Stamp: El Classico - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Adventure Awaits

A very happy Wednesday to you all!  It's time to showcase another great image from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  This week it's Harley!

The image was stamped twice on to Copic Xpress It Card stock with Memento ink and then colored with Copics.  To create the patterned paper I used the amazing Sizzix 3D embossing folder called Gears, which after embossing I used Peacock Feathers, Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso distress inks to add color.  The embossed paper was then cut with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Triple Peek-a-boo Window and Edge, and then I randomly placed parts of the stamped image in the opening created by the die.  The sentiment is also from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and can be found here.

Full Throttle!

Hi OCS Peeps!
Hubby has a Harley and it just happens to be blue....go figure LOL! I knew when I saw this "Harley" stamp from the new "Modes of Transportation" over at High Hopes Stamps, it would have to be coloured blue!
I love the brown plaid paper with the hint of blue, it just fit my card perfectly! A few enamel dots was all it needed to be considered finished.
I love this sentiment called "Live Life" but if I catch Hubby driving "full throttle" he's gonna be in some hot water LOL.
Copics Used:
B000, B93, B95, B97
C0, C1, C2
W5, W6, W8
Glitter pen on the silver parts

Drive People Crazy

Happy Monday OCS fans!
I am high jacking the blog today to share a fun card I made using the newly released "Love Bug" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Just don't tell the boss okay? Maybe she won't notice? giggle

I wanted to spread some "happy" with this card and well, truthfully I'm kinda known to be the crazy one once and awhile so why not embrace it right? I am hoping my bright coloured bug and papers will bring a little smile for you today because Mondays are hard!!!

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers, I stamped an extra one on a post it note and fussy cut it to mask my car. Next I grabbed my inks and sun ray stencil to add the rays around the car. After that was done I fussy cut around the tires and bumpers to fit on top of my embossed card stock "hill". It is hard to see in the picture but the bumper and around the headlights was done with silver Wink of Stella for a little added sparkle.
Some fun crazy arrow paper from Bo Bunny was perfect for this card. Some simple twine and gumdrops finish things off.

Find Joy in the Journey...

Welcome OCS Fans;

Now that summer is here, school is out and it is time to go on an excursion and find joy in the journey.

For today's card I have used Ron's Royce from High Hopes Stamps latest release called "Modes of Transportation".

Instead of using design paper, I created my own using the GoPress and Foil machine along with a Hot Foil Stamp, an embossing folder and heat activated foil.

The GoPress and Foil machine is used along with your die cutting machine.  It is the pressure from the die cutting machine that will help add the foil which is heated on the GoPress machine first.  The Introduction to GoPress and Foil youtube video gives a good overview of its many functions.

The small strip on the left hand side is a hot foil stamp.  The bigger piece on the right hand is an embossing folder. I have seen the embossing folder and GoPress machine used in two different ways.  The first way is to run the embossing folder through the die cutting machine first, giving a raised appearance.  The second way, is not to run the embossing folder through the die cutting machine which gives it a flat appearance. The embossing folder with the  raised side down, is put on top of some cardstock, which is then put down on top of the foil which is colour side down, which is put on top of a metal shim on top of the GoPress machine platform.

Your Best Miles

I have a couple of nieces and nephews who are old enough to drive and have their own vehicles.
After I get over feeling old, I try to come up with Birthday cards that are unique to each of them. My latest card is for a nephew who is turning 18 in July - Yikes! Hopefully he doesn't have a need for speed like this stamp suggests...hmmm...maybe I should rethink this and the gas card I was going to include with it.......

After stamping my car and colouring it with alcohol markers I hand fussy cut it and ran a black marker around the edge to cover any white I had missed.
Paper from Basic Grey and some from my stash were perfect for my masculine themed card. I cut out the licence plate for the background and stamped one of my sentiments directly on it - I see now it's not actually straight but I'm the "crazy aunt" so I decided to leave it just for fun!
The second sentiment is actually one long sentiment but I masked it off to stamp it so I had a stacked sentiment. Some simple gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Need For Speed- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment - Best MilesHappy Birthday Block - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, stash
Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, Licence plate die - Quickutz, gumdrops - Your Next Stamp

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday post for One Crazy Stamper, and this week I am showing you all another fantastic image from the latest High Hopes Rubber Stamps Modes of Transportation release.

This beautiful image is El Classico and I have colored the image with Copics and used a silver metallic pen on the chrome details of the car.  The tool border die is from Find It's Vintage Vehicles collection and finished off the card front perfectly.  The "You're a Classic" sentiment is computer generated while the Your Best Miles sentiment is also from the High Hopes Modes of Transportation release and can be found here.
