Dragonfly Smiles

I can never have enough cards in my stash to send to friends and family who are going through tough times.
I love being able to send a smile or hug in the mail!

I think Lg. J's Dragonfly fits the bill to bring a smile to someone - especially with those heart shaped cheeks! She definitely makes me smile!

I coloured this cutie with alcohol markers and hand fussy cut it leaving a thin white edge then popped her up with foam pop dots. I added some dots to her cheeks with a white gel pen and because I like a little sparkly somewhere on my cards, I added some clear sparkle pen to the hearts in the wings.

I set her aside and die cut a cloud and grabbed my dauber and ink to create my sky background. Next I cut it to size and put it in my trusty Misti to stamp the sentiment in the perfect spot. I lightly drew the dashes with a pencil and then went over them with black marker once I was happy with their placement. Some twine and gumdrops finish off this fun, CAS style card.

When I saw these two stamps from High Hopes, I just knew that I had to put them together to make this card.

Happy As Two Pigs In Mud!

Howdy OCS Fans!
There's nothing cuter than these two pigs having fun in the mud! This stamp is called "Happy Pigs" and is from High Hopes Stamps!
To start, I stamped and coloured my image with my Copic Markers. After I die cut a circle around the  image, I masked them off with masking paper. Then I added some clouds and grass to the image using the MFT Mini Clouds, Grassy Edges stencils and inks to create an outdoor scene. I love the "Barn Yard" paper from Bella Blvd. It's my go to "Farm" paper. A few enamel dots and the HH "Hogs and Kisses" sentiment finish off my card.
I always like to use scraps of the designer paper on the inside of my card for a finished feel. I added the HH sentiment called "Happy As 2 Pigs" which of course matches the card theme.
Copics Used:
R01, R02, R21, R25, R27

Now doesn't this cute little lamb and chick make you think of spring?  It does for me and I can't wait for winter to be gone!
Although I made this into a belated birthday card, this image is perfect for a spring-like or Easter card.  After colouring the image, I added some Stickles to the flowers for a little sparkle and glam and then I was off to the stash for some buttons and dots!  I could hardly believe my good luck when I found a button and some enamel dots with a perfect colour match.

Welcome OCS Fans;

Hi it's Bev here today and I am sharing my 2nd  DT project for One Crazy Stampers using High Hopes Stamps. Again it is a scrapbook layout page with a stamped and coloured image which is being uesd as an accents that co-ordinates the themes of the project. This page has photos from our time in Florida whan we visited the McKee Gardens where all the natural vegetation is amazing and depending on the time of year has many blooming and amazing plants.

To start my project I stamped the image ....Country Garden and picked colours that would compliment the papers I planned on using.

Copic are my favourite medium to colour with.... but lots of pencil sets out there now too. I love the shading options that come with copic markers.

Next I layouted out the proprosed background and postioning of the fabulous stamped and coloured image... and glued everything down ready for the photos.

Next was the photos and some fun accents from the paper collection and the flowers.

Another Year Wiser!

Welcome OCS Fans;

Have you ever had one of those times when you had envisioned something completely different as to how the card turned out.  Well, this is the case for today's card.  After a couple of mishaps and completely not what I had in mind, I'm happy with how it turned out.

After colouring Waving Owl with Copic Markers, I cut it out using a circle die.  To get the effect of the circle die sitting inside the hexagon, I put the same size circle inside the hexagon die and cut them out together.  This allowed Waving Owl to sit inside the hexagon.

Love Hangin' With My Peeps

This week I am celebrating my friends! February is the month of love and I love my crazy friends who I like to call my "posse"! You know the ones.......you meet up for an innocent coffee or event, you let your hair down as they say and "things" just happen!
You end up making some of the best memories and well let's be honest, maybe relieve a little stress along the way. I am truly blessed to have these amazing women in my life.

I chose to use "Froggy Stack" for this card. This stamp is one of the first High Hopes stamps I ever won in a challenge many moons ago. I love the fun these three are having......although I think I would probably be the one in middle!

After colouring these three friends with alcohol markers I cut it out using a wonky stitched die - perfect for these three fun loving friends! I set them aside and went on to creating my sentiment. This is two long sentiments combined so I masked each word and stamped them separately. Challenging but I am very happy with the result. Next I cut my patterned paper from YNS and Echo Park to fit my design and added a stitched scalloped edge just for fun. Some glittery flowers (hard to see in the photo) and gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Froggy Stack - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Hangin' With My PeepsOwl Always Love You - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Spring - Echo Park, Summer Plaid - YNS

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, hand stitched nested rectangles die - Whimsy, gumdrops - YNS, flowers - Poppies and Prairie, scallop edge - My Creative Time dies

Spectrum Noir Markers: AG1 AG3 AG5 PP1 PP3 PP5 CT1 GY1 YG1 YG3
Copics: R20 R32 C00

Shake Your Ba-Donkey-Donk

Hi There,

Sharing a birthday card that I made using a combination of High Hope Rubber Stamps - Party Donkey S113, Brayden's Backside T066 and Warm Wishes S106. When I first saw the 2 donkey stamps, I knew just what I was going to do with them and it made me giggle just thinking about it! LOL! I hope that you get a giggle too!

I coloured in the High Hope Rubber Stamp - Party Donkey S113 on the front of the card and the fussy cut around the stamp. The cake is from the High Hopes Warm Wishes S106 stamp. I stamped it out and then fussy cut around it. I made the little flames using some spare yellow cardstock.

Here is a close up of Party Donkey.

On the inside of the card, I decided to have some fun with the High Hopes - Brayden's Backside T066. I stamped out the full image and then just the back haunches and tail. I coloured in both images and then fussy cut around them both. I attached the haunches using an Activation Wobble Spring. When you bring it to one side or the other. The butt shakes back and forth! LOL!

Here is close up:

Hannah's Heart!

Happy Tuesday OCS Fans!

Today I am sharing with you a card I made using "Hannah's Heart" from High Hopes Stamps! Hannah is one of the first stamps I had from HH and I haven't used her in a long time. I forgot just how adorable she is and had to ink her up once again!
I decided to use papers from the MME "Happy Days" 6x6 collection. I just love the colour combinations in this pack! I made this card for any "love" occasion. The sentiment "Just Because" is also from High Hopes.

After stamping Hannah, I coloured her with my Copic markers to match the designer paper. I added some Crystal Stickles to the tiny hearts on her dress, her flower in her hat and the butterfly. Some matching ribbon, bow and adhesive sequins finish off my design.

Using leftovers from the designer paper I decorated the inside of my card and added the HH "A Hundred Hearts" sentiment.

Goat Your Back

Hello and I hope your are wintering well.  Since it's past the middle of February, I am already starting to think about and wish for spring, which is my favourite time of the year.
Today's card uses the fun Goat Your Back image and aren't this pile of them cute?  I paired it with the Happy Thoughts sentiment which seems to go perfectly with the image.
Copics were used to colour the image and when finished, I sponged Tumbled Glass distress ink around the edges for shading.

Hockey Stamp is perfect on this Hockey Layout

Welcome OCS Fans;

Hi it's Bev here today. I am back again as it's Saturday and I get to share a layout page with a stamped image accent for my post at One Crazy Stampers using High Hopes Stamps. This page is showcasing a great hockey image coloured to suit the team colours in the photos. This hockey page is a fundraising tournament that my son and his friends play in every year.

To start my project I stamped the hockey image and coloured it with the photo and paper colours in mind. The background part of this was very easy because the 2 photos filled the bottom section. I used striped black, grey white paper and the upper section is grey marbled print to give the look of ice. It came together fabulously.

The highlights are added using a signo white gel pen. For this specific image I added a circular chipboard accent that fit perfectly around the image.  It is showcased by adding a washi tape border and a hockey net accent with the Hockey title.... so easy but I love it.
Sure hope that I am inspiring you to think about getting out these stamps you own and working them into your layout pages too.

Supplies used:
  • Stamps:  Sam's Big Play T511
  • Copic Markers: 0. C0, C01, C03, C5, C8, B000, R24, R35. R37, W5, W7, E00, E01, E55, E57, E59

Swinging Birthday

We had an unexpected snow event last week where I live and another that is heading towards us for Tuesday (two days ago) so my thoughts have been turning towards Spring, sun and warmth.
Every crafter I know never has enough Birthday cards in their stash and I am no different so this week I created a CAS style, clear front card to add to my stash.

After colouring this sweet stamp with alcohol markers, I hand fussy cut her leaving a thin white line. I set her aside and cut my card base. The sentiment I used is one sentiment but I masked off the first line and stamped it using my trusty Misti. Next I placed my cloud die and ran it through my Big Kick. I cut my blue sky background and a piece of embossable window plastic and added clouds to both using an embossing folder. I cut a plain white strip of cardstock for the bottom, masked my sentiment and stamped it.
A matching gingham ribbon and some enamel dots finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: L'il Swinger - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Swinging Birthday - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Patterned Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle

Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Misti, white gel pen, enamel dots - Carta Bella, ribbon - Stampin' Up!, puffy cloud border die - YNS, embossable window plastic - Judi-kins, cloud embossing folder - Darice

Spectrum Noir Markers: CT1 CT2 CT4 GY4 TN1 EB1 TB8 BT9 TB9 EB3 EB6 EB8 PP3
Copics: R20 E00 E21, E11, E31 E34 E37
