Woof! Woof! Christmas

Good Morning.  Glad you could make it for another "Wonderful Wednesday" here at One Crazy Stamper.  First, I just want to mention that I had an incredible time this weekend at the 12 hours crop and I am hoping if you are local that you can join us next time.  It was great to get to visit with Lora, her family, her staff, the guests that did "Make and Take's" and some of my Design Team sisters.

Now on to what you really are here for.  Christmas just keeps on coming this month and I have another cute High Hopes stamp to show you.  I know I mentioned last week that I enjoy using non-traditional Christmas colours and I have done that once again.  I also tried a new to me product Glitter Ritz and was pleased with how it turned out.

A Mini Album/Book Card Tutorial

Good Morning.  As I told you last week, I have a tutorial for you today on how to make a mini album/book card.  This versatile little card/album has many uses ~ a card with wishes on each page, a mini album with pictures on each page and tag, a journalling book on a layout ~ and I will show you how I used mine at the end of the post.  There will be lots and lots of pictures and instruction and if you still have questions. just leave me a comment here or on my personal blog and I will answer.

The first thing you need to make this album is a single piece of 12" x 12" card stock.  This will be your base.

Step 1 ~ Using a scoreboard, score at 2", 6" and 10".

Step 2 ~ Rotate the page and then score at 3", 6" and 9".

Step 3 ~ Fold along all score lines, making the 2" folds into pockets.

Step 4 ~ Cut along middle score line, leaving 3" together.

Step 5 ~ Add score tape to the back of the page that is not cut.  Put this page together.  Next, accordion pleat the other pages to make a book.  Add score tape to the back of these pages to hold together.  Also, add score tape to the open ends of the pockets.

Step 6 ~ Cut tags for the pockets.  Embellish album and tags as desired.  Tie the album closed with a ribbon.

The white and kraft albums were just to show you the steps. Here is a picture of my finished album:

And this is how I used it:

Left side:

Right side:

I used it for a journalling box for a layout.  I have missed scrap booking as I have been making so many cards so I went back to my first love of paper crafting and made a scrap book page.  In keeping with the theme of the month "BIRTHDAYS" this layout showcases my 50th birthday.  I am still looking for a catchy title so if you can think of one, please leave it for me in the comment section.

Thanks for coming by today.  I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and will try one of these cute little mini albums to send as a card or use for your scrap booking.  Remember, there are just a few more days to enter our challenge for this month "BIRTHDAYS" as we will have a new challenge up on September 1.

Hugs,

Red Hat Girl

Good Morning and welcome to another Wonderful Wednesday.  It is my turn to once again post here today and I have a card using the new line of stamps called My Besties.  I was inspired to make this card because the hat reminded me of the red hat society.  I did a little research and this is what I found out about the beginning of the society :

The founder of the Society is artist Sue Ellen Cooper, who lives in Fullerton, Orange County, California. In 1997, Cooper gave a friend a 55th birthday gift consisting of a red bowler purchased at an antique store along with a copy of Jenny Joseph's poem "Warning". The opening lines of the poem read:

"When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me."

Originally the society was open for only women over 50, but now is open to all women.  Sounds like a fun time with girlfriends :)

Here is the card:

Seaside Dreamin'

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at One Crazy Stamper.  Following our monthly challenge theme of "Summer Fun" I have created a card showcasing another of the Whimsy Stamps Elizabeth Bell  images.  Originally it was going to match the card I posted HERE but when I started colouring he went off in a totally different tangent and turned out oh so cute.  Guess I will just have to colour them up a second time as a pair.

Here is Little Jack and Bobbin Seaside Dreamin':

Dreaming of Spring

Surprise!!!
As a last minute favor for Design team member Aaemie I get to post another card this week, and it's a bright spring colored card to finally celebrate the arrival of spring here in Alberta. ( Shhhhh, don't say it too loud, or the winter fairies might just decide to return and share a few more flakes of snow - horror!!! )

This adorable little dragon is taking a well deserved nap and dreaming of all of the pretty flowers soon to arrive. I have colored up Dreamy Dragon from Whimsy Stamps artist Sylvia Zet with my Copics, then added Icicle Stickles to the flowers for that extra shimmer and shine. The image was cut and matted with the Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles die. Paper flowers are all from my stash of Prima, while the flower centers are either Kaiser rhinestones, pearls made with the Cream Viva Decor Pearl Pen, or cream Kaiser self adhesive pearls.

Happy Spring!

Good morning.  Today is the first day of Spring.  Does it feel like it where you are?  Not for us, we are still experiencing cold and snowy weather.  I honestly do not mind but I know there is a lot of complaining about it going on around me.

The card I have to show you today is cheerful and happy like Spring and not a snowflake in sight.  It features a Whimsy Stamp by artist Elizabeth Bell

February Tutorial ~ A Tri Fold Card

Good morning, crafty friends.  Today I have a quick but picture heavy tutorial on how to make my version of a tri fold card.  I tweaked it a lot to make it work for what I wanted it to do.  I have a confession to make ~ I had a video tutorial all filmed and was going to post it ~ but two things happened.  One, I kept filming my card off the screen so that you couldn't see what I was doing and second, I forgot how to upload my videos.  My camera is old and it has always been confusing as to what software supports it and I believe the original program is no longer on my computer.  So instead, there are a series of pictures for you to follow.  If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and your email and I will get back to you with an answer.

 The Tri Fold Card:

Card open:

Supplies Used:

Copics Used: BG11, BG13, BG15, E11, E13, E15, YG61, YG63, YG67, YR02, YR04, YR07

And now for the tutorial:

Step 1:  Begin with a piece of base card stock 6 1/2" x 11 3/4"

The reason for 11 3/4" is because I needed the center piece to be 5" across so that I could use my Punch Around the Page punch and have it even.  If you have a border die and would prefer to use that to make a fancy edge along the top, you may use a 12" piece of card stock.

Step 2:   Score as shown in diagram.  At 3 1/4" and 8 1/4" and at 2 3/8" along longer edge.

Step 3:  Cut out rectangles formed by score lines, either by hand or with your trimmer.  Punch along upper edge with punch or die.  Round corners.  Fold on score lines.  This is your card base done.

Step 4:  Cut 3 outside layer pieces as per measurements shown.  If you use a 12" card stock you will need to cut the small piece 1/4" larger in both this step and the next.

Step 5:  Cut 4 inside layer pieces as per measurements shown.  If you use a 12" card stock you will need to cut the centre layer 1/4" larger.

And your card is ready to embellish any way you want.  Thanks for joining me for this tutorial today.  If I can every figure out the video, I promise I will add it to this post :)

Have a great day!  Until next time,

Hugs, Heather
